Nickle Dickle Day 2006

Nickle Dickle Day is fast approaching. This year it takes place on September 16, 2006 and it’s a great outing for everybody.

There are antique cars, trucks and tractors, plenty of craft vendors, kids activities, food and even a 5k & 10k run for that athlete in you.

I went last year and there was quite a bit. More antique cars/trucks than I’d seen before and enough craft vendors that I found my mom a great birthday present. I also got mini doughnuts for myself. 😉

Head to downtown Waconia and City Square Park to catch all of the action.

Check out the official Nickel Dickle Day website for more information.

Waconia Triathlon Was Today – June 25th

About 550 people were expected for the Lake Waconia Triathlon on June 25th.  They swam a half mile in Lake Waconia and then ran and biked though parts of town.

If you were a participant of the Lake Waconia Triathlon today I hope you had fun and enjoyed yourself.  I don’t have the drive to do all that work, but I respect those that do. 🙂

First Ever Waconia Art Fair

The first ever, from what I hear, Waconia will beholding an art festival. Waconia’s art festival takes place on June 24 2006. It’s title d The Art Of… and features a wide variety of events and talents.

Including:

  • Painters
  • Sculptors
  • Potters
  • Photographers
  • Dancers

… and more.

Events take place throughout the city from Mackenthun’s County Market and Kitchen Sync to Downtown to the south shore of Lake Waconia at Nancy’s Landing which will be providing attendees with fantastic opportunities to purchase original art. Pretty much everyplace in town will have something going on.

And that’s just the beginning. Much more information available at The Art Of… homepage.

Lake Waconia Band Festival 2006

Get ready for one of the biggest marching band events I’ve ever seen. The Lake Waconia Band Festival gathers marching bands from around Minnesota and Wisconsin and they all compete to be the best!

Lake Waconia Band Festival is Saturday June 17th 2006. It starts at 6pm and travels down main street in Waconia.

Bring your chair as the entire parade lasts more than an hour. More than two?
