Interlaken Park-AKA Target Park

Interlaken park-AKA Target park (as its located in the Interlaken Housing development behind Target) is a well hidden gem of a park. There are trails that families can walk on, playground equipment for multiple ages (Smaller equipment for toddlers, and lager equipment for the older kids), there are picnic tables if you want to plan a picnic there, and there is plenty of parking. It is nestled off county road 10 in a housing development so its not as frequently visited plus it still has the feel of the country with the two ponds nearby and walking paths into the trees. There even possibility of wildlife (a fox ran in front of us when we were walking).

There are cons though about this park also; If it rains give it a few days to dry out as it seems to hold water and so kids end up playing in the mud. This housing development is still being built and so plan for construction; when we were last there during the week most of the parking was taken up by construction crew and the equipment was quite loud (Weekends/evenings are better). The trails don’t seem to go to Target as I would expect them too. It may be that we haven’t walked far enough but I would think that would be a great idea. Since this is a neighborhood park there isn’t a bathroom located there, you would need to get in your vehicle and drive to Target.

Overall I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. Not my top park from Waconia but definitely up near the top compared to some. Waconia is one of the better towns in Carver County in the number/upkeep of the parks in my opinion.
